||The Texas Emerging Technology Fund (ETF), a $200 million initiative created by the Texas legislature in 2005, encourages the creation of companies and jobs in new technologies. House Bill 1188, passed in September 2007, allocated approximately $100 million of additional monies for use over the 2008-2009 biennium. The ETF gives priority to proposals that involve emerging scientific or technology fields.
